Why does the switchable PDLC film peel up at the edges after installation (it seems not to stick)?

Answer:

Since the PDLC film is packed and shipped in a roll, when the film is taken out, it will automatically roll back up. Similar to a paper rolled up and unfolded, it will automatically rewind. Therefore, when the film is attached to the glass, the edges will warp due to the force of curling. (The film is electrostatic adherence, and the adhesion force is not strong enough to overcome the strength of the curl, so it will slowly lift up.)

Solutions:

Option 1: After taking the film out of the package, place it on the table and flatten it to release the curling force for 4-5 hours;

Option 2: Or after the film is attached to the glass, fix it with transparent glue tape to prevent it from rolling up and warping. After several days, remove the transparent glue tape after the curling force is released.
